We’re looking for an Information Governance Support Officer to provide essential administrative and operational support within our Information Governance team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring information is handled responsibly and efficiently, while building your experience within a professional and supportive council environment.
Job Responsibility:
Help deliver effective information governance processes across the organisation
provide efficient and accurate administrative support across data protection, records management and complaints functions
manage records, process information accurately and support data protection and information governance casework
use case management systems, databases or similar tools to log, track and update cases accurately
maintain complete, accurate and auditable records in line with organisational procedures
manage multiple tasks and workstreams at the same time while ensuring deadlines are met
draft, manage and issue correspondence, emails and written responses
support internal teams by handling information securely, professionally and confidentially
communicate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders including members of the public in a clear, professional and sensitive manner
promote a professional and positive image of the Council
Requirements:
Proven administrative experience
confident working with case management systems or similar databases
highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
strong time‑management skills and ability to work with competing deadlines and demands
clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and information security
comfortable handling personal and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
high level of accuracy and attention to detail
strong written and verbal communication skills
able to produce clear and concise correspondence
able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
remain calm under pressure and adapt positively to changing priorities
good IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
ability to learn new systems quickly
educated to GCSE/NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
able to communicate clearly with members of the public
