In a High Reliability Organization, Infection Preventionist Lead is responsible for guiding the team of Infection Preventionists in monitoring and implementing Infection Surveillance, Prevention and Control. Responsible for facilitation of the local infection prevention and control program under the direction of the Director of Quality. Serves as a resource on, infection risk assessment, surveillance, prevention, and control strategies. Acts as a resource to the members of the management team in reference to guidelines for infection prevention and control. Utilizes epidemiology principles to monitor the delivery of patient care and investigate potential outbreaks of infection. Assists with the facilitation of action plans to mitigate the risk of infection spread through collaboration with leadership. Maintains knowledge of external regulatory standards related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control and contributes to the hospital's policies and practices, as related to infection prevention and control per CDC and State guidelines.

Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Clinical laboratory sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, or other health-related field required
Associate degree nurses may also be considered
5 years of healthcare or public health experience preferred
3 years of experience as Infection Preventionists preferred
CBIC CIC (Certification in Infection Control) upon hire
Must be proficient in computer skills using EXCEL, PowerPoint, MS Office, and Flowchart tools
Must communicate effectively to different audiences
Must be knowledgeable on High-Reliability Principles and PDSA methodology
