You will be the mechanical backbone for a major heavy industrial fabrication and rig-up facility, servicing an ever-changing fleet of equipment. If you consider yourself a master troubleshooter capable of fixing anything from a warehouse forklift to a heavy-duty transport truck, you will absolutely thrive in this shop environment!

Job Responsibility

  • Execute both preventative and reactive maintenance across a vast material handling fleet, including standard and heavy-duty forklifts
  • Expertly diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial shop machinery, yard tools, and heavy-duty transport vehicles
  • Tackle light-duty fleet vehicle repairs and general automotive maintenance whenever necessary
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, shop machinery, and hand/power tools within a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Take full ownership of the repair process, from diagnosing complex hydraulic and mechanical faults to independently sourcing the required parts

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Automotive Service Technician or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician ticket is preferred
  • however, experienced 3rd or 4th-year apprentices who can completely work alone without supervision are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Proven experience or high comfort level dabbling in a bit of everything—forklifts, heavy duty, automotive, and general shop hydraulics
  • Strong ability to work autonomously, manage your own day, and troubleshoot problems without someone looking over your shoulder
  • A self-starter who possesses their own hand tools and takes pride in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-kept shop environment
