Job Description

Rare in-house IR and employment compliance role with franchisor-scale complexity: 5,000+ direct employees and a 50,000+ person national franchise network. Strengthen national Industrial Relations compliance across awards, enterprise agreements, systems, audits, controls and franchisee education. High Impact 2 Year contract with hybrid working - 2 days/week in our Frenchs Forest head office. Reporting to the Industrial Relations & Compliance Manager, and working closely with Payroll, Operations, People & Culture, franchise stakeholders and external partners, you'll help improve systems, reduce risk and embed practical, scalable IR controls across KFC's corporate business and broader franchise network. This is a two-year fixed-term contract in a growing IR function that is central to how KFC manages IR compliance. Over two years, you'll have the runway to move beyond reactive advice and help shape the systems, controls and capability that prevent IR risk at scale. You'll make a visible impact across KFC's corporate business and broader franchise network.

Job Responsibility

  • Strengthen IR governance frameworks, employment compliance controls and risk management processes across the business
  • Help ensure accurate application of industrial instruments across operational systems, IR processes and business practices
  • Partner with Payroll and Time & Attendance teams to validate rules, improve system accuracy and strengthen compliance outcomes
  • Contribute to audits, risk reviews and corrective action tracking to help maintain fair and consistent practices
  • Use data and insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with Operations leaders, franchisees and People & Culture teams to build practical IR capability through guidance, education and resources
  • Help translate complex workplace obligations into simple, scalable tools and ways of working
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen IR practices and operational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Experience in Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and enterprise agreements applied in an operational setting
  • Experience supporting IR compliance, award interpretation and operational control processes within complex, multi-site environments
  • Experience working collaboratively with Payroll, Operations, HR or external partners to improve systems and embed compliant ways of working
  • Experience using data and insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Experience contributing to structured, process-driven improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in similar multi-site, fast paced environments such as QSR, hospitality, retail, supermarkets, logistics, franchising or other large frontline environments
