Job Description:

Our client, a design-build mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC, plumbing, building controls, energy efficiency upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing maintenance/service for commercial and institutional facilities, is seeking an experienced Industrial Project Manager. This role involves managing mechanical industrial construction projects through communication, negotiation, scheduling, cost tracking, document control, and profitability forecasting. Job Responsibility:

  • Review job estimates and establish project budgets
  • Estimate, negotiate, and manage change orders
  • Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs
  • Buy out major equipment and subcontractors
  • Expedite and track delivery of major equipment and materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of contract general conditions, scope, and specifications
  • Ensure document control and contractual compliance in accordance with company standards
  • Supervise Project Engineers, including quarterly and annual reviews
  • Collaborate with field supervision to plan, organize, and schedule project work, including preparation of integrated project schedules
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s Safety Program at the job site
  • Follow company processes when applicable
  • Uphold company Core Values and maintain professionalism
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

Requirements:

  • Ability to accurately estimate mechanical work
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a positive work environment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical concepts with the ability to clearly communicate them

  • High attention to detail, with awareness that errors can result in significant financial impact

  • Advanced computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, AutoCAD, Front Desk, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, and Viewpoint
  • Supervise Project Engineers, Project Administrators, and Craft Supervisors
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
  • Degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
