Requirements

Previous experience in industrial painting, particularly in signage or similar fields, is preferred
Proficient with spray painting techniques, masking, and finishing methods
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform manual labor tasks, including bending and reaching
Comfortable using industrial painting tools and equipment
Basic understanding of safety protocols in an industrial setting
Must be available to work second shift typically 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM Monday to Friday

Job Responsibility

Paint Industrial Signage: Apply paint, coatings, and finishes to various industrial signage materials, including metal, plastic, and composite surfaces, ensuring an even and smooth finish
Set Up Equipment: Prepare and operate spray guns, airbrushes, and other painting equipment to meet production requirements
Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces for defects, ensuring the finished product meets quality standards. Rework or touch up signage as needed
Read Blueprints and Specifications: Interpret design specifications and drawings to determine the correct colors, finishes, and techniques for each signage project
Maintain Equipment and Tools: Regularly clean and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
Ensure Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper handling of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials
Inventory Management: Monitor paint and material inventory, notifying management of any shortages or supply needs
Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other painters, production staff, and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient project completion

Minimum 2 years’ commercial painting experience with basic knowledge of Structural Steel Fabrication operations preferred
Must be able to understand paint code systems

Job Responsibility

Coating/painting the appropriate surface of structural steel pieces in accordance with SSPC specifications
Receives finished material from shop, prepares surface for coating and sets up paint equipment in order to paint a maximum amount of pieces in the most efficient manner
Gathers needed materials and specifications according to the applicable department prints
Loads finished pieces on trailers for shipping
Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required
Perform non-essential duties as needed

Utilize precision measurement tools (wet and dry film gauges) to verify coating thickness against engineering standards
Document all technical variables, including batch numbers, ambient humidity, and drying times, to ensure full traceability
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions on the fly, performing routine teardowns and cleanings of spray nozzles and filters
Work in close coordination with the manufacturing & logistics production lead to synchronize painting schedules with assembly workflows
Maintain a pristine and organized paint booth environment, adhering strictly to VOC disposal and safety regulations
