The Australian Services Union NSW & ACT (Services) Branch (ASU) is seeking to employ an Industrial Officer to support ASU members in securing fair pay, safe working conditions, and resolving workplace issues.
Job Responsibility:
Represent members in workplace disputes and grievances
Prepare and present matters in industrial tribunals, with assistance
Provide members with industrial advice and advocacy
Support campaigns and contribute to broader union goals
Apply relevant legislation and sector-specific frameworks (e.g. NDIS Code of Conduct)
Conduct industrial research and negotiations
Collaborate with Organisers and contribute to member engagement
Requirements:
At least one year’s experience in a similar role
Share ASU’s values and commitment to union principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Empathetic, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure
Understand industrial relations and have advocacy experience in industrial tribunals
Ready to contribute to the union’s political and social justice agenda
Working knowledge of organising principles
