The Industrial Nurse is responsible for providing medical care to employees across the Group while assisting in the implementation of health programmes across the Group.
Job Responsibility:
Providing immediate medical care and first aid to employees who sustain injuries or fall ill on the job
Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records for all employees and ensure compliance with privacy laws
Supporting the Group Manager- Health & Well-Being with all patient health care matters as directed including clinics and stock management
Providing guidance and support to injured or ill employees Group wide
Collaborating with external healthcare providers and specialists to ensure employees receive appropriate medical care and treatment
Participating in health education and training programs to employees on topics such as injury prevention, first aid, proper ergonomics, personal protective equipment, food handling, nutrition, managing NCDs and mental health management
Conducting health assessments and screenings to identify potential health risks and hazards in the workplace
Participating in developing and implementing employee wellness programs aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being in the workplace
Participating in development and implementation of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment
Collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and standards
Conducting regular workplace inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions
Providing counseling to employees on health, family life, family planning, and psychosomatic stress-related problems and following up on employees to evaluate effectiveness of counseling plan for behaviour changes
Attending seminars and workshops to keep abreast of developments in the Industrial Nursing field
Requirements:
Senior Registered Nurse designation or equivalent professional qualification with special training in Public Health and Industrial Nursing
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in general nursing with Industrial Nursing experience (preferred)
Proficiency in the use of medical instruments and equipment for diagnostic, monitoring and other applications for the efficient delivery of medical services to employees
Ability to provide provisional diagnosis and make decisions in emergencies
Sound knowledge of computer applications
Ability to interview and counsel employees, particularly in regards to health and wellness issues and practices
