Our Lantz Site is home to both Shaw Precast Solutions and Shaw Brick divisions. We are currently hiring an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Mechanic. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the candidate will be part of the Shaw Precast Maintenance Team, to plan and carry out heavy machinery maintenance with Safety as the priority, while working with Production Leads, Engineers, and Senior Management. This position requires the successful candidate to be exceptional with machining and precision measurement skills, mechanical trouble shooting and problem-solving skills. The candidate must be customer focused, understand how to prioritize and multi-task with a sense of urgency, as well as be a team player with effective communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Following safety precautions and using protective equipment, such as hardhats, safety glasses, and hearing protectors
Reading technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
Installing, maintaining, and repairing factory equipment and other industrial machinery
Ensuring the efficiency and optimal performance of industrial equipment and machinery to support operations and prevent operational delays (troubleshooting, problem solving, innovating, etc.)
Performing preventative maintenance of assets
Maintaining accurate records and updating work orders in a timely manner in a relevant system (maintenance work orders, safety submissions, etc.)
Providing advice and support to production employees who carry basic preventative maintenance procedures on equipment
Working with and supporting Operations team to troubleshoot, problem solve, repair, and maintain of the physical plant and production equipment
Other duties, as may required, to support and maintain operational requirements
Requirements:
Safety and Quality focus
Nova Scotia Licensed Millwright-Industrial Mechanic
Minimum three years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic, preferably in a production environment
Competent in computer skills, including the use of e-mail, the internet, CMMS systems
Strong attention to detail
Maintains a high level of integrity and accountability
Easily adaptable in the field as the demands of the plant change
Ability to work shift work and overtime as required
