Lead the reliability and performance of critical water renewal systems that keep our community running. In this role, you’ll blend hands-on technical expertise with leadership - guiding a skilled team responsible for maintaining and repairing advanced wastewater treatment facilities and essential public works utilities. You’ll plan, coordinate, and prioritize maintenance across complex mechanical, technical, and facility systems within a highly regulated environment, ensuring operations remain safe, efficient, and compliant. Job Responsibility:
Lead the reliability and performance of critical water renewal systems
Plan, coordinate, and prioritize maintenance across complex mechanical, technical, and facility systems within a highly regulated environment
Troubleshoots and performs complex analyses of mechanical systems for repair, replacement and new installation of equipment and structures
Oversees the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs and procedures for mechanical trades
Develops job safety analysis and standard operating procedures for equipment and systems
Utilizes computerized maintenance programs to create and maintain detailed maintenance reports
Plans and coordinates major repairs, maintenance and installations with engineering, contractors and operations staff
Assists in the formulation and preparation of maintenance budgets and capital improvement projects
Performs the full range of supervisory duties including hiring, evaluating, promoting and assigning duties
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience as a journey-level electrician, HVAC, pipe fitter, facility maintenance or industrial mechanic
Experience in a supervisory or lead position
Valid state-issued driver's license
Ability to obtain a Wastewater Treatment Operator Class 1 or Operator-in-Training (OIT) license within six months of meeting Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses eligibility requirements

Nice to have:
Seven years of maintenance experience in a Class IV advanced wastewater treatment facility with five years of supervisory experience
Completion of supervisory courses provided by a city or an equivalent organization
Wastewater Treatment Operator Class II or higher license or a formal degree or trade certification in maintenance management and practices
