We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our heavy manufacturing team in Cambridge. This role is perfect for a mechanical expert who enjoys variety and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy industrial machinery. While the core of the role is mechanical, we are looking for a "jack-of-all-trades" who can handle basic electrical resets and perform structural welding repairs to keep our production lines moving.
Job Responsibility:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic components, gearboxes, conveyors, and heavy-duty rotating equipment
Perform Stick/MIG welding for equipment repairs, bracket fabrication, and structural reinforcements
Execute "light" electrical tasks, including motor swaps, sensor adjustments, and basic PLC troubleshooting (resetting faults)
Carry out scheduled PM inspections to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of plant assets
Move and install heavy machinery using forklifts, cranes, and hoists as required
Adhere to all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and provincial health and safety regulations (OHSA)
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
Licensed Millwright (433A) is preferred, but "Red Seal" equivalent or highly experienced Unlicensed Technicians will be considered
Strong command of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission
Proven ability to weld (CWB certification is an asset but not required)
Ability to read and interpret blue prints and electrical schematics
A proactive "fix-it" mindset with the ability to work independently on a straight-day shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a heavy industrial environment
