The Boeing Company is looking for an experienced Industrial Hygienist (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the Enterprise Workplace Safety team in advancing chemical safety programs across our global operations. This role provides strategic and technical oversight to ensure the protection of employees, compliance with regulations, and alignment with corporate health and safety goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate in improving chemical safety programs, be self-directed, possess deep technical knowledge in chemical safety, and have the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, research, and environmental health and safety functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plans, implements and assesses occupational health and safety programs and processes to maintain a safe and healthy work environment across the enterprise
  • Serve as the Enterprise Subject Matter Expert for industrial hygiene topics
  • Interprets and advises on the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations
  • Evaluates and provides selection advice on existing or emergent risk management control technologies
  • Works with management and site contacts to facilitate risk management decisions regarding industrial hygiene topics
  • Provides support to company-groups on development/review of product standards and product specifications
  • Reviews and recommends corrective action plans to respond to internal/external audits and inspections
  • Oversees the development and sustainment of training and command media documentation
  • Analyzes emerging technology for the identification of potential hazards and control methods
  • Represents the company with government agencies and customers to influence regulatory compliance strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher in a safety related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Public Health, etc.)
  • 3+ years performing industrial hygiene work within a manufacturing environment
  • Senior: 9+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mid-Level: 7+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Experience in practicing Industrial Hygiene within the aerospace industry
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements (U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62)
