Job Description

As a Manufacturing Simulation Consultant, you will help our customers transform their production systems with confidence. On a daily basis, you will be involved in defining business requirements, designing and building models. You will carry out capacity and performance analyses that will enable our customers and our transformation teams to make informed decisions.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out simulation and optimization projects for our manufacturing customers: Analysis of customer needs
  • Writing of model specification documents
  • Data collection, cleansing and organization
  • Simulation model development
  • Analysis of results and development of recommendations
  • Conduct training sessions and customer workshops
  • Contribute to presentations
  • Map business and manufacturing processes
  • Observe all stages of the manufacturing process and identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with production staff and customer managers to implement improvements
  • Adhere to Progima’s project management and execution methods

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with plant simulation software
  • Strong ethics and commitment to clients’ and coworkers’ success
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both French and English
  • Ability to deliver high performance in a fast and fluid environment
  • Good set of soft skills and the ability to express ideas with persuasion
  • Constant initiative in the performance of tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of Autocad 2D and Microsoft Office software
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and/or Engineering
  • or any other related training or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Canadian P.Eng designation

  • Consulting experience
  • Siemens Tecnomatix Plant simulation experience for modeling and optimizing production systems and processes
  • Lean Six Sigma green or black belt certification

  • Ensure aisle geometry, storage strategies, and containerization support AMR/AFT operation
  • Lead or coordinate full-facility simulations (manual + automated traffic) to validate takt capability, congestion risk, and fleet sizing
  • Translate simulation results into fleet quantities, charger counts, route designs, and business-case inputs
  • Define and specify AMR/AFT auxiliary equipment (P&D stands, roller racks, risers, turntables, reflectors, etc.)
  • Support sourcing and installation of operator-interface devices and integration hardware (e.g., sensors, traffic lights, conveyor/hoist interfaces)
  • Align requirements across IE/LMS, Controls, IT, and suppliers to ensure complete, accurate IO/requirements documentation
  • Ensure AMR/AFT solutions meet GM standards for safety, controls, cybersecurity, WMS/VaaS connectivity, and integration with ASRS and related automation systems
