Campbell Soup Supply Company located in Stockton, CA has an immediate job opening for a Mechanic in our tomato processing facility. This is a full-time position with seasonal overtime work required. Maintenance staff team members do various types of work under minimal supervision including trouble shooting and maintaining food processing equipment, production lines and personnel supervision for large scale manufacturing. In addition, they will assist in all preventative maintenance activities in their assigned area by utilizing technical skills and a team approach to problem solving. Team members are responsible for meeting production goals and making sure all aspects of compliance are being met in the areas of safety and quality. 80% mechanical 10% Electrical.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul the plant's mechanical equipment
Troubleshoot to the component level, research manufacturers' manuals and data, identify replacement parts
Observe equipment in operation and detect problems through sight or sound
Care and operation of hand tools, drill press, sanders and grinders, band saws, torque wrench, etc.
Make measurements with micrometers, scales, etc. and use mathematical equations
Gas weld (oxyacetylene and torch brazing) and arc weld (stick, MIG, and TIG) as well as oxyacetylene cutting torch
Trouble shooting and maintaining food processing equipment, production lines and personnel supervision for large scale manufacturing
Assist in all preventative maintenance activities
Responsible for meeting production goals and making sure all aspects of compliance are being met in the areas of safety and quality
Requirements:
Advanced experience with steam systems, steam turbines, evaporator processes and gas fired boilers
Mechanical experience on pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc.
Knowledge of shafts, keys and keyways, pins, and shaft couplings
Knowledge of chains and sprockets
Knowledge of gears and gear ratios
Knowledge of plain, ball, roller, thrust, liner and guide bearings
Knowledge of lubrication
Ability to troubleshoot to the component level
Ability to observe equipment in operation and detect problems
Care and operation of hand tools, drill press, sanders and grinders, band saws, torque wrench, etc.
Ability to use measurement devices such as a micrometer, Vernier caliper, tape measures
Experience with laser alignment tools
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and steam systems
Ability to gas weld (oxyacetylene and torch brazing) and arc weld (stick, MIG, and TIG) as well as oxyacetylene cutting torch
