Job Description:

In this hands-on role as an Electrician, you will utilize your expertise to diagnose and repair complex machinery, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set up, maintain, and continuously improve food processing and packaging equipment
  • Understand and maintain Packaging and Process Control Systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair all electrical equipment
  • Perform electrical equipment installations in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Logically perform troubleshooting techniques on complex machinery, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Prepare work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) of all site equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Provide support to source and prepare parts for all preventative and reactive work
  • Read and understand technical bulletins, manuals, instructions, and blueprints
  • Participate in all maintenance team meetings and production line changeovers
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow 5S principles
  • Practice a "safety first" policy by addressing hazards, wearing personal protective equipment, and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Comply with all Health & Safety, HACCP, BRC, and Good Manufacturing Practices

Requirements:

  • Must be a Licensed Electrician
  • 2-5 years of industrial mechanical/electrical experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex machinery, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of appropriate health & safety and environmental regulations
  • Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
  • Ability to read and understand technical blueprints and manuals
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset
  • Comfort with working in wet, cold, and warm environments
  • The position involves working with meat products (beef, pork, chicken, etc.)

  • Proof of apprenticeship is an asset
