The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
Job Responsibility:
Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as: Centrifuge, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic press, dewatering press, belts, fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments
Able to troubleshoot VFD’s alarms
Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution
Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures
Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects
Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management
Work from engineering drawings rough sketches, manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications
Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate follow-up communication
Clean and lubricate equipment, parts and machinery
Maintain equipment in proper operating condition
Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion
Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in work areas and throughout the facility
Requirements:
Valid 442A or 309A Electrician Licence
Valid 433A Millwright or 447A Instrumentation and Control Technician Licence will be an added value
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Industrial Maintenance, preferably within the Waste, Heavy, Mining manufacturing environment
Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation
Working experience with PLCs, SCADA and proficient in reading P&ID, electrical and mechanical drawings
Proficient at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner
Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
Reading Manuals of different VFD’s manufactures to be able to troubleshoot different issues
Excellent communication skills
Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak)
Experience with a variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand and power tools preferred
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Must be deadline oriented, reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations
Must Work well with others and possess good hand eye coordination
Must be comfortable rotating through-out the facility as required
