We are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and automated equipment within a high-volume, multi-temperature logistics and distribution facility. The successful candidate will ensure maximum equipment uptime and facility safety while adhering to strict food-grade (SQF/HACCP) standards.
Job Responsibility:
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in automated sorting systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, and loading dock equipment
Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled PMs on electrical panels, motors, VFDs, and sensors to minimize unplanned downtime
Automation Support: Troubleshoot and monitor PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI interfaces
Facility Infrastructure: Maintain and repair facility-wide electrical systems, including high-efficiency lighting, backup generators, and HVAC/refrigeration electrical components
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures strictly
Documentation: Maintain accurate digital logs of work orders, repairs, and parts inventory using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Requirements:
Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A)
3–5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance or warehouse environment
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Hands-on experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, and encoders
Basic knowledge of PLC logic and troubleshooting
Ability to work at heights (scissor lifts), move through various temperature zones (ambient to frozen), and lift up to 50 lbs
Strong problem-solving mindset, the ability to work independently under pressure, and clear communication skills
Nice to have:
Experience in food-grade or refrigerated facilities is a significant asset
