An opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join a well-established Industrial Disease team based in Birmingham. The role focuses on defendant work, acting for a range of insurers and corporate clients, and offers an excellent balance of high-quality work, flexibility and long-term career development. The team handles a broad spread of industrial disease claims, with a particular emphasis on noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) matters. You will be trusted with responsibility for your own caseload while being supported by experienced senior lawyers and a collaborative wider team.
Job Responsibility:
Managing a caseload of industrial disease claims, primarily NIHL matters
Acting for defendant clients, including insurers and self-insured organisations
Reviewing medical and expert evidence and advising on liability, causation and quantum
Drafting pleadings, witness statements and schedules
Working closely with colleagues to deliver pragmatic and commercially focused outcomes
Requirements:
Experience handling noise induced hearing loss claims (essential)
A background in defendant or claimant industrial disease work
Strong technical ability and a practical approach to case management
Confidence managing files with appropriate supervision
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
