If you’re committed to delivering engaging lessons, making a difference in students' lives, and fostering a love for learning, we want to hear from you. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Birmingham, working as a Industrial Cleaning Teacher. This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • The successful candidate must have either a qualification in Industrial Cleaning and/or vocational expertise in this area
  • Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Have a good previous track record of achieving quality targets
  • Have willingness to engage with and produce accurate and timely reports
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have an ability to motivate and enthuse learners in the subject matter
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines/targets
  • Advocate for and engage consistently in positive team working
