Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Centennial, Colorado. In this role, you will focus on managing sales and use tax compliance while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of corporate tax operations. This position is ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail and a strong background in indirect tax and corporate tax accounting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review monthly sales and use tax filings to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to indirect tax activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address tax-related inquiries and provide guidance
  • Utilize Vertex software to manage sales and use tax processes efficiently
  • Conduct regular reconciliations and audits to verify tax entries and payments
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within tax operations
  • Research and interpret tax laws to ensure adherence to applicable regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries for management review
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary updates
  • Provide support during tax audits and liaise with external auditors as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in corporate tax accounting, specifically with indirect taxes
  • Proficiency in managing sales and use tax compliance processes
  • Hands-on experience with Vertex Sales & Use Tax software
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
