Job Description

SF Recruitment are seeking an Indirect Tax Assistant urgently required on a temporary to permanent basis for a well established construction business based locally in Birmingham. This is a growing organisation with a strong regional presence and an impressive portfolio of projects, continuing on a path of sustained growth within the construction sector.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting VAT returns
  • CIS reporting and compliance
  • Reviewing subcontractor VAT treatment including reverse charge applications
  • Reconciling VAT control accounts
  • Assisting with HMRC queries
  • Supporting wider indirect tax processes across the business
  • Ensuring compliance with current VAT legislation specific to the construction industry

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to communicate effectively across finance and operational teams
  • Previous experience within VAT or indirect tax is desirable
  • Construction sector experience advantageous but not essential
