Job Description

We are working with a client to hire an Income Tax Manager is to prepare income tax compliance, research income tax issues to minimize tax leakage, efficiently manage income tax audits and reduce risk associated with the company’s income tax positions. The Income Tax Manager will have a significant impact on our calculation and recording of income taxes for financial statement purposes.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage income tax compliance including returns, quarterly estimated payments, annual extension payments and monthly account reconciliations
  • Manage property tax compliance, including coordination with external advisors, returns, timely payments and assessment appeals, and monthly account reconciliations
  • Manage quarterly income tax provision process
  • Draft 10-K and 10-Q tax footnotes and disclosure
  • Manage tax depreciation calculations and analytics
  • Monitor effective tax rate and impacts on a quarterly basis for financial reporting, including preparing supporting documents for use with external auditors to support income tax provision
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to rapidly take responsibility for projects and assigned duties
  • Manage income tax audits from beginning to end
  • Maintain internal controls as required under Sarbanes Oxley
  • Initiate the preparation of the income tax provision, income tax payments & income tax returns
  • Stay abreast of current tax law changes and increase tax knowledge through continuing education and training

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree is required
  • 5-7 yrs Income Tax experience or equivalent public accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong PC skills including MS Office
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills – both written & verbal to clearly answer questions from auditors, tax department members and other company personnel
  • Good problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • CPA or active candidate desired
  • Experience in preparing Federal and state corporate tax returns
  • Experience with tax compliance and tax provision software desired
  • Experience with income and franchise tax audits

  • Manage and facilitate income tax audits, preparing and response and creating schedules
