We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Teacher to work within our Inclusion Centre, The Bridge, at The Portsmouth Academy. You will be joining a dedicated and supportive team who strive to make a difference in the outcomes for our students with Educational Health and Care Plans. The Bridge at The Portsmouth Academy is a specialist centre for children with complex Cognition and Learning difficulties aged between eleven and sixteen, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our curriculum centres on each child as an individual, looking at their starting points and next steps.
Job Responsibility:
Work within our Inclusion Centre, The Bridge
Supported by a committed team of Student Engagement Workers across 2 classes
Teach children with complex Cognition and Learning difficulties aged between eleven and sixteen, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Deliver a curriculum centred on each child as an individual, looking at their starting points and next steps
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status
Experience teaching within a SEN/Inclusion setting would be advantageous, either in a secondary or upper KS2 setting
Be passionate about teaching and learning and have a positive outlook and excellent interpersonal skills
Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
Provide a differentiated, balanced, progressive, varied and stimulating curriculum in line with statutory and school requirements while taking into account each pupils’ special educational needs
You will be dedicated to ensure that all of our children achieve their very best

Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our school
Nice to have:
