Job Description

Inclusion & Support Mentor – Worthing (KS1 SEN). One‑Form Entry Primary School. Full Time. Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm | Immediate Start. A welcoming one‑form entry primary school in Worthing is looking for a compassionate and committed Inclusion & Support Mentor to support pupils in KS1, with a particular focus on children with additional needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Support KS1 children with a range of SEN needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, S&L, etc.)
  • Provide a mix of 1:1, small‑group and general classroom support
  • Assist with phonics, early reading, early maths and structured play activities
  • Use positive strategies to help children regulate emotions and stay engaged
  • Build strong, stable relationships with pupils who need a confident, calm adult
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support
  • Create a positive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued

Requirements

  • Experienced working with SEN (school, nursery or community experience welcomed)
  • Patient, kind and emotionally intelligent
  • Positive, proactive and confident supporting young children
  • Great at balancing nurture with clear expectations
  • Reliable, team‑focused and ready to get involved
  • Passionate about early education and children’s wellbeing
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services
