A wonderful primary school near Petworth is looking for a caring, proactive and enthusiastic Inclusion & Support Mentor to join their KS1 team, supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing and structured environment. This is a strong, community‑focused school with a warm staff team and brilliant SLT who genuinely value their support staff.
Job Responsibility:
Work full‑time, Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm)
Support pupils in KS1, including targeted 1:1 and small‑group SEN work
Help deliver phonics, early literacy and numeracy
Build calm, trusting relationships with children who need consistency
Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation
Work closely with the class teacher & SENCO to track progress
Help create a calm, caring and structured classroom environment
Requirements:
SEN experience (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs, etc.)
A nurturing, patient, child‑centred approach
Strong communication and teamwork
Someone reliable, warm and proactive
Confidence supporting KS1 learners
A passion for helping children thrive academically and emotionally
All staff must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services
