We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Inclusion Advisor to join an Alternative Provision setting across West Sussex. This is a key pastoral and inclusion-focused role, supporting students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, within nurturing, structured, and inclusive environments across multiple sites.
Job Responsibility:
Support the inclusion, engagement, and wellbeing of students across multiple provisions
Travel between sites to provide consistent pastoral and inclusion support
Work closely with teaching staff to reduce barriers to learning
Develop and implement individual support and behaviour plans
Monitor attendance, engagement, and pastoral needs of students
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student outcomes
Promote positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
Contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential – travel between provisions required)
Experience working with young people with additional needs, ideally in SEMH or alternative provision settings
Strong understanding of inclusion, safeguarding, and pastoral support
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A calm, resilient, and solution-focused approach
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) update service, or be willing to obtain one
