Reporting to the ERO M40 Day Works Manager, the Incident Response Supervisor will be responsible for the delivery of the Incident Support Units across the motorway and will play a key role in executing the annual and routine works program to schedule. The Incident Support Supervisor will oversee an efficient delivery of the highway's Incident Support Units, ensuring rapid response to incidents, effective management of incident support unit day works, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role ensures that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while minimising disruption to traffic and local communities. The role will ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained, and in compliance with Egis codes of ethics and conduct. In the first instance working closely with the Day Works Manager, they will contribute to achieving contract safety, profitability, monitoring and achieving performance targets.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all activities are completed safely in compliance with the company’s health and safety & environmental policies and procedures
Ensure briefings are delivered by the ISU team leads at the start of each shift and all ISU team members are trained for the works they will undertake
Assist the Day Works Manager to ensure service delivery of the Incident Support Units in responding to emergencies and incidents on the highway network as per contractual requirements
Identify and communicate training requirements for operatives to the Day Works Manager
Monitor work to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations
Report any issues with fleet or plant to the Day Works Manager and provide support in rectifying issues where required, whilst looking for ways to innovate and provide a better service
Ensure all paperwork is recorded correctly and all team members are following the correct procedures
Ensure all team members understand their works and provide guidance if they are unsure
Ensure all tools and equipment are usable and in good condition. Report any that are not to your line manager
Provide timely information and feedback as required by Egis M40 Management for reporting purposes
Behave in a manner to promote collaboration and fairness, and to foster a positive work environment, improving morale of the workforce
To carry our other such related duties as maybe required
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with our client and partners
Work closely with other departments, contractors to facilitate effective incident response and day works delivery
To fully engage with the promotion and adoption of any current and future health, safety and wellbeing initiatives rolled out by Egis Road operation M40 Ltd and/or Egis UK
Requirements:
Proven track record as a Site Supervisor on high-speed road projects
CSCS Supervisor card, SSSTS/SMSTS
Strong understanding of Civil Engineering, drainage and road construction
A demonstrable ability to identify areas for improvement, and implement change, through a combination of clear and effective communication, and a drive to succeed
Considerable and demonstrable experience with regard to safety and quality on a high-speed strategic road network
Strong ability to lead teams effectively, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Capability in making informed decisions under pressure, ensuring timely resolution of issues
