Join Barclays as an Incident Manager, where you’ll play a key role in shaping our digital landscape, driving innovation, and ensuring operational excellence. Working within the Joint Operations Centre, you will coordinate incident response plans and collaborate with various stakeholders, leveraging diverse data resources to safeguard the virtual and physical security of the bank. You will be responsible for controlling the information flow during incidents, coordinating activity and driving incident remediation as well as communicating with all engaged entities as appropriate. The position operates on a fully rotational shift pattern between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM with an average of four days per week. While weekend on-site attendance is not required, weekend shift coverage may be scheduled.
Job Responsibility:
Socialisation and implementation of the resilience strategy and underpinning framework across the firm
Development and enhancement of the resilience, crisis and incident management framework to uplift recovery and response capabilities
Operational Recovery Planning and Security Incident Management planning standards and controls enhancement
Provide oversight to the business and technology recovery capability improvements, and uplifts to third-party recovery capabilities
Communication of the firm’s / business’ resilience position through clear and transparent scorecards / dashboards
Enhancement of resilience, crisis management and incident response and recovery capability through testing
Assurance that services and products are built resiliently by the business through the change management process
Continually remain abreast of resilience and crisis and incident management developments
Mitigation of the impact of unexpected incidents by identifying , responding to and enabling the resolution of events
Execution of responses to reported incidents and potential threats
Documentation and analysis of past prioritised incident details
Requirements:
Prior experience in a banking environment
Understanding of layered and intelligence-driven defence mechanisms
Familiarity with platforms such as ServiceNow, X-Matters, Everbridge, Microsoft SharePoint & Office
Strong ability to communicate efficiently with a broad audience across the bank, including support teams, business representatives, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Relations, colleagues, and senior management
Confidence under pressure, with the ability to stay calm, focused, and in control during high-stakes situations
Nice to have:
A working knowledge of risk management and the part that controls play in a security posture of an organisation
Ability to identify operational risks and issues in a fast time environment and take proportionate and appropriate actions
Previous experience working in a large multinational organisation with colleagues and stakeholders based in multiple / remote locations
Previous experience in a security control / operations room environment
A good understanding of and keen interest in geopolitics, international security, and current affairs
A good technical understanding of the threats against the financial industry from both the physical and cyber threat domains
Ability to help write concise reports based on complex data with accuracy, brevity, and speed whilst reporting to the highest levels of the organisation
