Job Description

The Inbound Logistics Specialist provides coordination as well as operational and administrative support to the Transportation Department. You will effectively prioritize and track shipments daily to facilitate on-time carrier pick-ups and deliveries. This position follows formalized tracing and tracking methodology, utilizing transportation vendor information gathered through internet, phone, pre-alerts, or other communication means to collect shipment status information.

Job Responsibility

  • Calls shippers, carriers and receivers to confirm location of carriers, trucks and loads
  • Accurately enter and maintain up-to-date information in our systems on a continuous basis, allowing for real time tracking of our freight
  • Distribute purchase order routing instructions to vendors/shippers
  • Enters all required shipment update and exception information into the TMS
  • Check documents for accuracy and completeness, cross reference information
  • Provides a superior level of customer service to vendors, shippers, carriers and receivers
  • Escalates issues and assists with resolution as appropriate.
