The server, In-Room Dining (overnight) is responsible for taking, preparing, and delivering food orders to guest rooms with courtesy, efficiency, and attention to detail. They ensure a high-quality, personalized service by anticipating guest needs, maintaining accuracy, speed, and presentation of orders, and coordinating effectively with the kitchen and other departments.
Job Responsibility:
Answer the phone using courteous and efficient language, and gather all necessary information for the guest's order
Present food and beverage selections to guests in an engaging and appealing manner by describing the origin, taste, and preparation methods of each item
Deliver food orders to guest rooms while ensuring special requests and needs are met with care
Check outgoing orders from the kitchen against the guest's original order or with the person who took the order
Enter guest orders into the hotel's point-of-sale system, including any special requests, and verify outgoing orders for accuracy
Properly close guest checks, including charges and gratuities
Anticipate guest needs, assess satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond promptly and appropriately to requests or questions
Coordinate timely order delivery to ensure all requests are received, processed, and accurately sent to the kitchen and delivered properly
Work harmoniously and professionally with colleagues and supervisors
Patrol guest hallways to collect trays or items related to In-Room Dining service
Provide service in the restaurant or for banquets during peak periods
Report any incidents or unusual situations to the supervisor as soon as possible
Perform any other related duties as required
Requirements:
1 to 2 years experience in the same role, ideally in a luxury hotel environment
Great communication skills in French
Knowledge of English is required, as the person in this role will regularly interact with a primarily English-speaking clientele
Strong command of the French and English languages
An affinity for guest service
Good interpersonal skills. This position involves a large volume of guest contact and excellent communication skills are required
Move about facility and stand for long periods of time
The ability to carry up to 30lbs (13kg)
The ideal candidate will also have solid food and wine knowledge, a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
