Join our team as a In Memory Fundraiser and make a difference! You’ll help steward supporters through personal engagement and special events, while also growing In Memory income by developing relationships with local solicitors, funeral directors and businesses. You’ll speak to community groups, host hospice tours and inspire people to understand the impact of their donations. You’ll support the coordination and success of appeals and events such as Light up a Life, promote the Tree of Life, and help shape and test In Memory supporter journeys. Collaboration across fundraising teams will be essential to strengthen and grow long‑term support. This role also requires strong organisation and administration skills to ensure all interactions are accurately recorded on our fundraising database.
Job Responsibility:
Build warm, trusting relationships with In Memory supporters, taking time to listen to their personal stories and understand their motivations for giving
Develop, implement and follow supporter journeys to ensure that donors are suitably thanked and stewarded
Liaise with clinical teams and the Supportive Care Team to provide appropriate in memory fundraising materials and ensure a sensitive, joined-up approach for families
Contribute to the planning, delivery and success of the Light up a Life appeal and event and other In Memory campaigns
Build relationships with solicitors, funeral directors and other businesses to create mutually beneficial relationships and increase the net contribution of events and appeals
Represent Ashgate Hospice within the community promoting Individual Giving and wider fundraising initiatives
Requirements:
Ability to live the Hospice Values
Level 3 qualification (A level or equivalent) or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the role
Excellent relationship management skills
Time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to interact confidently with colleagues at all levels to build rapport, trust and confidence
Proficient using databases / CRM system
A flexible approach to working, ability to work at events outside of normal working hours and across North Derbyshire
