We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented In-House Paralegal to join our client's legal team doing defense of auto liability claims in Princeton, New Jersey. This role involves providing comprehensive support to attorneys in litigation processes, trial preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury or bodily injury cases and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. This role is hybrid, in four days a week, remote one day a week.
Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys in managing discovery tasks, including collecting medical records, creating summaries, and preparing chronologies
Coordinate with attorneys, witnesses, and clients to schedule and confirm appearances and meetings
Maintain and update the litigation calendar, ensuring depositions and court dates are accurately recorded and confirmed
Draft and review legal documents such as depositions notices, subpoenas, authorizations, motions, and certifications
Handle a high-volume workload efficiently, managing electronic case files and ensuring deadlines are met
Organize and prioritize tasks to support attorneys effectively, while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, including clients and legal professionals
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations within the legal department
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
paralegal certification or equivalent experience required
At least one year of experience as a paralegal in personal injury or bodily injury cases, with a solid understanding of litigation processes
Proven ability to draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and coordinate medical exams and court schedules
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with case management software
Prior experience in a law firm or insurance defense setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of civil litigation, trial preparation, and discovery processes
