Job Description:

Hello Neighbor is seeking a Part-Time In-House Cleaner to support the daily cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of our busy nonprofit office. This position plays a key role in keeping the office looking tidy, well-maintained, and welcoming for staff and visitors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Tidy and reset common areas and meeting spaces
  • Empty dishwasher and put away clean dishes as needed
  • Empty trash and recycling in common areas and restrooms
  • Restock supplies in kitchens and restrooms, including paper goods and soap
  • Mop hard floors
  • sweep and vacuum carpeted areas
  • Clean and sanitize shared desks, counters, tables, and high-touch surfaces
  • Clean baseboards, door frames, and wall surfaces as needed
  • Clean interior glass surfaces, including doors, windows, and conference room partitions
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen counters, sinks, appliances, and shared surfaces
  • Restock kitchen supplies as needed
  • Remove expired food from shared refrigerators weekly
  • Sanitize refrigerator interiors monthly
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces
  • Restock restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
  • Water office plants according to established schedules
  • Perform basic plant maintenance, including removing dead leaves and monitoring plant health
  • Notify Operations or Facilities staff if plants require additional care or replacement
  • Use standard office cleaning equipment and supplies provided by the organization
  • Follow established cleaning schedules, checklists, and safety procedures
  • Use cleaning products according to instructions and sanitation guidelines
  • Report supply needs, equipment issues, or safety concerns to Operations or Facilities staff

Requirements:

  • Prior commercial or office cleaning experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to follow cleaning schedules and detailed instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to understand written and spoken English and communicate basic information verbally in English
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods

Nice to have:

Prior commercial or office cleaning experience
