Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognised university
Must be a qualified Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya
7-8 years of PQE, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm's Energy/Infrastructure practice or an in-house role within the construction/utilities sector
Proven experience with FIDIC or similar construction contract standards used in the Malaysian market
Familiarity with the Renewable Energy Act 2011 and the technicalities of grid interconnection in Malaysia

Job Responsibility

Contract Lifecycle & EPCC Management: Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) contracts
Act as the primary legal gatekeeper for sub-contractor agreements, ensuring 'back-to-back' protection against the main Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
Manage the legal process for contract amendments, claims, and disputes arising during the construction phase of renewable assets (Solar, Hydro, or Bioenergy)
Regulatory & Licensing: Ensure all projects comply with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), SEDA, and TNB/GSL requirements
Oversee the legal aspects of obtaining Public/Private Licenses and ensuring adherence to the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) frameworks (e.g., LSS5, CGPP)
Land & Project Development: Draft and review land lease agreements, easements, and land conversion applications (Tukar Syarat) under the National Land Code
Conduct legal due diligence on project sites and potential joint venture partners
Corporate Governance & Secretarial: Establish the company's first legal SOPs, contract templates, and document retention policies
