Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced In-House Counsel to join our team in Irvine, California. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global organization, addressing legal matters across domestic and international operations. The position emphasizes collaboration with executive leaders daily. Your expertise will contribute to impactful initiatives in e-recycling and sustainability.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including technology agreements such as SaaS, cybersecurity, and data privacy contracts
  • Provide guidance on data privacy regulations and ensure compliance across various global divisions
  • Support employment and HR-related legal matters, offering counsel on policies and procedures
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to address legal needs and strategic initiatives
  • Offer solutions for complex legal issues while maintaining a balance between business priorities and compliance
  • Participate in occasional calls with international teams and adapt to business needs as required

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Prior in-house experience
  • Experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating tech agreements such as SaaS, cybersecurity, and data privacy contracts
  • A CA bar is preferred but not required (IL or NY are strong seconds)
  • Ability to operate autonomously
  • Executive presence
  • Confident and won't need much hand-holding
