We are looking for a skilled In-House Auto Defense Attorney to join our client's corporate team as an In-House Counsel in Princeton, New Jersey. This role requires a dedicated, detail-oriented legal expert with expertise in insurance defense and personal injury litigation. You will be responsible for managing cases from inception to resolution, providing strategic guidance, and representing clients in state and federal courts.
Job Responsibility:
Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs
Represent clients during court appearances, hearings, and jury trials
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies
Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and subpoenas
Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions to achieve favorable outcomes
Collaborate with clients, adjusters, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management
Analyze liability and damages to develop comprehensive defense strategies
Prepare witnesses and experts for depositions and trial testimony
Maintain compliance with court rules, procedures, and deadlines
Provide legal counsel on insurance coverage and claims disputes
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active bar admission in New Jersey, with good standing
Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense
Proven track record of handling personal injury cases and jury trials
Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures
Proficiency in drafting legal documents, briefs, and motions
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines
