Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Improvement Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems, industrial controls and mechanical engineering to drive operational excellence across the manufacturing process. The role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, implementing technical improvements, and enhancing equipment reliability.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyse and improve performance of electrical systems, PLCs and automated machinery
  • Modify and optimise control systems to improve uptime, cycle time and efficiency
  • Support fault finding and troubleshooting of electrical/control issues within production environments
  • Experience with panel building/wiring and 6 axis programming
  • Work with PLC platforms (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley) and HMI/Keyence, Omron systems
  • Identify mechanical reliability issues and implement design or maintenance improvements
  • Work on equipment modifications to increase performance, reduce waste, and improve safety
  • Support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment upgrades and refurbishment projects

Requirements

  • Minimum of an HNC or level 4 Qualification in an engineering principle
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work both as part of a team and individually
  • Clear effective Communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • PC literate in Microsoft office
  • Methodical / logical approach
  • Demonstrates a determination to deliver
  • Demonstrates high level of pride in all work undertaken
  • Experience in a high-speed automated production environment
