Brook Street is currently working on behalf of a well-established client in Belfast to recruit an experienced Imports Operations / Freight Coordinator to join an established team

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate FCL import and export shipments with a range of global carriers
  • Arrange collections with transport providers and liner shipping companies
  • Manage shipment documentation, including Bills of Lading, invoices, and pre-alerts to overseas offices
  • Track and trace shipments, ensuring timely updates to clients and partners
  • Support customs processes, including completion of import/export entries
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and industry regulations
  • Assist with general operational duties as required by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Previous experience in freight forwarding, particularly ocean imports is require
  • Strong understanding of import/export processes and customs procedure
  • Experience liaising with shipping lines, co-loaders, and transport providers (including online booking systems)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verba
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of container loading processes
  • Experience using CNS or similar freight operating systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work occasional overtime if require
  • Professional telephone manner and customer-focused approach
