Job Description

Are you an experienced Import Operator looking to join a dynamic and customer-focused logistics team? We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to manage air, ocean, and courier import operations, ensuring smooth and compliant shipment handling from start to finish.

Job Responsibility

  • Customer Service Excellence: Build strong relationships with clients and overseas partners, process bookings, and respond to quote requests
  • System & Documentation Management: Use in-house systems (including Cargowise) to manage job files, customs entries, and shipment tracking
  • Customs Compliance: Ensure all shipments meet UK and international customs regulations, including correct use of CPCs, HS codes, and duty/VAT rates
  • Shipment Coordination: Oversee UK arrivals, arrange collections and deliveries, and ensure timely and accurate documentation
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor carrier performance, manage PO/orders, and escalate any delays or issues
  • Commercial Awareness: Apply carrier rates and Incoterms to maintain positive margins and accurate quotations
  • Invoicing & Financial Accuracy: Raise customer invoices with all relevant costs, manage credit limits, and resolve queries

Requirements

  • Previous experience in import operations (air, sea, or courier)
  • Strong understanding of customs procedures and documentation
  • Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., Cargowise, Destin8, CNS)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
