The supervisor in the main support for all import-export assistants, their go-to for operational questions or clarification for specific matters. This position reviews and approves all import and export manifests (pedimentos) confirming that values are running in the weekly average as well as confirming that dutiable items are not eligible for duty waver programs. Customs classification experience is required in order to perform regulatory sample audits as well as to debate the classification of an item by following the rules of classification
Job Responsibility:
Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all import-export operations performed by the assistants
Requests all new Rule8 duty waiver permits to SAT
Works with the internal customer on submaquila permits and notifications
HTS classification SME, reviewing new components, products, fixed assets and MRO items. Performing regular sample audits to IMMEX inventory
Using the HD classification templates for components and textile items
Virtual Transfers (V1) main point of contact for suppliers and execution of monthly commercial invoices
Monitor all scrap returns, working with the scrap supplier and engineering to get accurate reports to process the export manifests (pedimentos) by type of scrap commodity
Request all PROFEPA permits and fumigation certificate renewals
Request all USMCA Certificate of Origin to Non-Hunter suppliers and communicate them to HD Corporate Customs
Fixed assets managements and control, confirming all new asset imports are tagged using the HD labels and performing periodical audits to different plant sections for compliance
Monitors the southbound discrepancy report, working with the warehouse manager and the cross-dock broker inspectors in maintaining and validating the data. Keeping score cards for those under the ‘Revision en Origen’ program to confirm they are still compliant under the IMMEX rules
Performs all import and export manifests (pedimento) reviews making necessary adjustments and providing the final payment approval to the customs broker
Training responsibility for new assistants
Any other activity assigned by the Import-Export Manager
Requirements:
Comercio Exterior y Aduanas, LAE, or similar
5 years + experience
ENGLISH LEVEL: 80%
SKILLS: SAP (desired), MS Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint) use of an inventory control software
