Position Overview Is in charge of the process of importing supplies, equipment and spare parts. As well as making the documentation for export shipments.

Job Responsibility

  • Using established systems and procedures, it carries out the compilation and preparation of data required at customs, such as invoicing shipments, calculating tariffs, as well as controlling equipment and materials imported/exported to/from Mexico
  • Process and document information for import and export shipments
  • Be in constant communication with the different service providers that make it possible for the import and export process, considering that logistics are carried out outside the company
  • Report on any mishap that is detected during the development of customs clearance that may affect the delivery of the merchandise in a timely manner
  • Manage the dispatch and collection of shipments for the different logistics centers and notify as appropriate
  • Make and maintain files with the information declared in the daily operation
  • It keeps up to date the legal basis that supports the import and export process
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree completed in Foreign Trade and Customs or related career
  • Desirable experience of 1 year in similar position
  • Advanced English
  • Microsoft office, intermediate-advanced level

  • Prepares, submits, and manages import/export authorizations (i.e. Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), ATF permits, Department of State/Commerce Licenses, etc.) required to achieve business objectives utilizing the OCR/EASE Export Management System
  • If approved by BAE Systems, will function as a designated “Empowered Official” per the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), to provide required certifications to the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC)
  • Understands and applies U.S. Import/Export Regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), BATFE regulations), and company import/export policies and procedures
  • Supports internal customers across all functions with the review/approval of international travel requests, international visit requests, international purchase orders, document reviews, and international shipments
  • Provides import/export training to new employees, current employees and special programs
  • Reports potential import/export violations to the Import/Export Manager or Director
  • Supports, prepares for, and participates in internal, external and government audits
  • Coordinates with internal customers to vet pending imports and notifies the Import Team to ensure timely and compliant import transactions
