Requirements

Previous experience in an Imaging or Healthcare Assistant role
Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations
Care Certificate
NVQ Level 1 and/or be willing to work towards NVQ Level 2 (Healthcare specific) or equivalent
Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 (Healthcare specific) or equivalent
Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence

Job Responsibility

Work as an integral part of the imaging team, providing a high standard of patient-centred care
Work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver care, maintain and enhance customer service and satisfaction of service users under supervision of a Registered Practitioner
Conduct yourself professionally within the HCA/ Imaging Assistants standard framework, understanding standards in accordance with NMC and HCPC codes
Demonstrate competence in the role of Imaging Assistant within scope of working areas
Work alongside multi-disciplinary team to provide safe and high-quality care provision for patients
Comply with all relevant mandatory training

Measures complete visual acuitys for all ages and ocular diagnoses, including Snellen charts, HOTV charts, color vision and stereopsis
Administers topical eye medications per specific physician order in preparation for testing as permitted by state law and regulation
Performs other objective ophthalmic testing and automated image capture, as indicated
Makes and cancels Optometry, Ophthalmology, medical clearances and diagnostic appointments
Obtains and prepares the appropriate medical information (records, files, forms, diagnostic results) for the provider
Records relevant medical information for the provider (i.e., assessments, plans, interventions, and spectacles) completes forms and other necessary data entry
Documents concise and relevant medical and ocular histories in the medical record Electronically, set up lab, x-ray and other requisitions, as needed
Labels specimen and Pathology Requests forms
Documents the specimens using departmental specific procedures
