The Illinois Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals, for temporary employment not to exceed 6 months, for the Illinois State Fair summer season. Temporary employees are needed for the following area: Security. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to work in a constantly changing fast paced environment. Successful candidates will be individuals who can work promptly and efficiently in order to maintain that the Illinois State Fair, as well as non-fair events, run effectively.
Job Responsibility
Under immediate supervision, on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed six months, performs a variety of unskilled manual labor and/or simple clerical duties
monitors an assigned area during the Illinois State Fair (ISF)
relieves or covers other assigned stations as instructed, when needed
performs other duties as required or assigned
Requirements
Completion of eight years of elementary school
ability to pass a name-based sex offender registry check
ability to work all 11 days of the State Fair
ability to work for up to 8-12 hours a day
must be at least 18 years old
may require a valid driver's license
Nice to have
Experience working with the general public and assisting general inquiries
experience with maintaining satisfactory working relationships with management, other employees, and members of the public
experience with understanding and following written and oral instructions
