Job Description:

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the food department, focusing on food preparation, customer service, and compliance with food safety standards. The role involves food preparation, active customer interaction, and maintaining cleanliness. Experience in hospitality and cookery is essential, and a positive, team-focused approach is required.

Job Responsibility:

Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience
Food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels
Clearing tables, wiping down benchtops and stocktake
Active selling, cash handling and customer service
Food preparation, cooking, serving and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods
Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the customer restaurant
Using your IKEA Food knowledge to exceed customer expectations, confidently answering their questions so they can make informed purchase decisions.

Requirements:

Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation
High customer-centric approach as you will focus on ensuring our customers have a positive dining experience
Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is essential
Previous hospitality and commercial cookery experience is highly regarded
An energetic and team-focused approach as this department can become extremely busy
Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
