Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurses (RN) play a pivotal role within Baylor Scott & White Round Rock Medical Center. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurses (RN) at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Round Rock care for both Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and Intermediate Care (IMC) patients on this 26-bed mixed acuity unit with 6 dedicated CVICU beds. Typical ratios consist of 1:1 for high acuity patients, 1:2 for general Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and 1:3 for Intermediate Care (IMC) patients. Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) level patients consist of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) patients.
Job Responsibility:
Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards
Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly
Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff
Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering
Requirements:
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
Minimum one year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) experience, two years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) experience preferred
RN – Registered Nurse
BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
