ICU Nurse

• Expertly apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide safe, therapeutic care for patients of all ages
• Provide total patient care
• Assist in managing care administered by other staff
• Assume responsibility for assignments, including relief charge nurse duties as needed
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of nursing principles
• Effectively collaborate with the healthcare team
• Take accountability for patient outcomes
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to unsure optimal patient care
• Implements patient histories, assesses patient's conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients
• Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolutions of problems
• Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning to implements patient education and documents teaching
• Administers and controls narcotics and medications accurately and in a timely manner and signs out narcotics and medications according to hospital policy
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient's progress, nursing care, records and reports

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• 6 months or more of acute care experience
• Registered Nurse: CA
• Basic Life Support - CPR - AHA
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA
