Provide advanced-level technical support for Housing Applications and their Databases
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex IT issues that cannot be resolved by 1st or 2nd line support teams in a timely and efficient manner
Proactive maintenance including performing upgrades, applying patches, checking system logs, taking server and database backups and supporting periodic business procedures (e.g. year-end processing)
Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles to capture and share knowledge within the IT Department
Develop and / or implement new ICT solutions in response to new or changing business requirements
Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent level qualification or experience
ITIL Foundation or equivalent
A knowledge of supporting Business applications and their databases, preferably Housing related systems within a Local Government environment
Technical knowledge of: Operating System: Windows 11 and MS Sever 20xx, Database: Oracle SQL, MS SQL, MS Access and MS Azure, Scripting: MS-DOS, Visual Basic and / or PowerShell, Reporting: SAP Business Objects and MS Power BI, Tools: MS Office 365 and associated products, SSMS, IIS, SFTP
The ability to communicate complex, or technical, information succinctly as appropriate to the audience
Have excellent written skills and be able to present to small groups
Familiarity with handling of service desk Incidents, Requests and Change Controls
The ability to design, adopt, implement and use appropriate procedures, methods and tools to ensure services are delivered consistently to the correct quality
The ability to prioritise and plan own workload effectively to ensure deadlines are achieved, identifying and resolving potential conflicts where necessary
The ability to be flexible to and adaptable to change
The ability to create and maintain a positive and professional relationship with colleagues and stakeholders
An awareness of own strengths and weaknesses that impact upon the ability to deliver service and a willingness to seek assistance to improve
A willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours
