Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a first line of defense function (1LOD) that houses and consistently manages credit risk activities performed for Citi’s institutional clients. Within ICM, the Credit Underwriting function provides credit analysis, underwriting, and first line of defense credit approval for periodic / material transaction reviews, and the subsequent credit monitoring across all institutional business including Banking, Services, and Markets relationships. Citi is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join the ICM team as a Senior Underwriting Analyst (AVP). The Senior Underwriting Analyst (AVP) will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment and management of credit risk associated with Citi's Large Corporates portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the prudent management of risk within a critical segment of the global economy.
Job Responsibility:
Independently perform assigned responsibilities with some supervision and limited Underwriter oversight on credit memos
Maintain coverage of a medium-to-high complexity portfolio of obligors under the guidance of an Underwriter
Prepare Annual and Quarterly review memos to accurately and concisely analyze complex credits
Author medium to high complexity transaction memos
Propose internal credit ratings and classifications by applying internal models and analytical guidance accurately
Identify material changes in financial performance or other credit events and recommend appropriate actions, if needed, to Internal Risk Rating
Develop projection models and appropriately articulate projection model assumptions during Annual Reviews and, Transactions
Ensure timely completion of remediations identified during the internal testing process
Serve as SME on various internal policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with key KPIs
Assist with ad hoc projects
Timely completion of all mandatory compliance / analytical trainings
Provide informal mentorship to analysts
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience, specifically in credit-related roles within Banking, Credit Risk Management, or a comparable field
Strong skills in financial analysis, including proficiency in interpreting financial statements and identifying key risk indicators
Proficient in identifying key financial and non-financial risks in their portfolio
Proficient in modeling techniques with an understanding of modeling principles
Working knowledge of standard product documentation (ISDAs, credit/facility agreements, amongst others)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
