Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver Physics lessons in line with the International Baccalaureate (MYP/DP) frameworks and relevant curriculum requirements
Develop students' scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and practical laboratory skills through an inquiry-based learning approach
Design and implement units of inquiry aligned with the IB philosophy, integrating key concepts, global contexts, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills
Assess, monitor, and document student progress in accordance with IB assessment practices, providing clear, constructive, and ongoing feedback
Promote scientific literacy and real-world application through the study of core Physics topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, and modern physics
Adapt teaching strategies to meet students' different learning needs, paces, and learning styles
Create a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment, including safe and effective laboratory practices
Collaborate with colleagues, the IB coordination team, and parents, actively participating in pedagogical meetings and ongoing professional development activities
Requirements
A degree in Physics, Science, Education, or a related field
Experience teaching Physics, preferably within an IB (MYP/DP) or international school context
Strong subject knowledge and a solid understanding of IB teaching methodologies, with a focus on inquiry-based and practical learning
Ability to create a positive, safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment
Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
A strong commitment to students' academic, social, and emotional development, aligned with IB values and the IB Learner Profile
