St. George’s International School is looking for an IB & IGCSE Economics and Business Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to Senior School students. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the curriculum according to the age and abilities of the students while maintaining the school’s core values both inside and outside the classroom. This role requires a motivated and dedicated professional with experience teaching IB and IGCSE Economics and/or Business. We are seeking a teacher with experience in the field, who is committed to student progress, professional growth, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Job Responsibility:
Teach IB and IGCSE economics
Strive for excellence as a practitioner, with the drive and energy to inspire outstanding teaching and learning outcomes
Commit to delivering the curriculum in an engaging, inquiry-based manner
Prepare students for IB (DP) assessments, including Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EEs)
Adhere to faculty assessment policies and practices
Attend parent-teacher/guardian conferences and meetings as required by the school
Write detailed and constructive reports on student progress in alignment with school policies
Participate in team meetings and engage with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and teaching strategies, particularly within the Humanities faculty
Cover classes, when necessary, in the absence of colleagues
Act as a role model for students and represent the school positively, adhering to its dress code and behavioural expectations
Promote a collaborative and supportive working environment, contributing as a dynamic team member
Support students as a tutor and form part of the pastoral fabric of the school
Offer a club as part of the extra-curricular programme
Demonstrate an international mindset and collaborate effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment
Requirements:
Proven experience teaching IB and IGCSE economics
A degree in Economics, Business, or a related field
A recognised teaching qualification
Strong knowledge of IBDP assessment criteria, Internal Assessments (IAs), and Extended Essays (EEs)
Ability to set clear expectations and ambitious goals, adapting teaching styles based on feedback
Strong assessment skills to evaluate student progress and provide actionable feedback
Excellent preparation and planning skills, with confidence in integrating ICT into teaching
Genuine care and attention to student welfare
Previous experience teaching Senior School students (aged 15 -18 years) and confidence in managing diverse classroom dynamics
Commitment to continuous professional development
C2-level English proficiency (or native equivalent)
